Further blending streetwear & high fashion
Louis Vuitton met Supreme. Jimmy Choo met Off-White. And now, the colliding worlds of couture fashion + trendy streetwear have introduced Dior to Air Jordan. This pairing of global fashion heavyweights has sneakerheads abroad holding their breath, anxiously awaiting the already iconic ‘𝘈𝘪𝘳 𝘑𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘯 𝟷 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩 𝘖𝘎 𝘋𝘪𝘰𝘳 ’. The best way to debut the shoe?…On Travis Scott of course.
The “Air Dior” collection was supposed to drop within the next few months, and were rumoured to be one of the most expensive Air Jordans to ever retail. Unfortunately amid the ongoing pandemic, Dior has officially delayed the release of the collection indefinitely. With that said, the French fashion house has already shared a glimpse of what we can expect in the high top shoe. The treasured Jordan silhouette is created in Dior Gray leather, the Maison’s signature colour. The iconic Jumpman Wings logo is reimagined, the Nike swoosh has been overran by a mirage of Dior logos and the tongue features a similar subtle design stitched in off white. In addition to the Air Jordan 1 High OG, the collection will include a low-cut version, ready-to-wear items and accessories.
Dior men’s artistic director Kim Jones was instrumental in joining the two brands. In an interview with WWD, Jones explained his vision in saying “I chose to collaborate with Jordan Brand because Christian Dior collaborated with the best American brands of his era”. Where you guys ranking these in the Jordans list?
